Founded in 1952 by Shri B.K. Patel, I.C.S. (Ex. Municipal Commissioner), the bank was established to consolidate small ward-level credit societies into one financially stable central organization.
Shri Patel inspired selfless Municipal employees to build a credit-oriented institution that could help civic workers in financial difficulties and promote the habit of banking and thrift.
Registered under the Co-operative Societies Act to serve Municipal employees.
Started functioning from April 1953 with a modest beginning.
Began developing full-scale banking businesses and expansion.
Became a member of NPCI for "RuPay Card" and global ATM access.
The Bank has collected significant capital in the form of Compulsory Deposits from shareholders. These deposits are strictly secured and payable upon retirement from Municipal Services or resignation from the Bank's membership.
Stabilized by four Directors nominated by the Municipal Commissioner, providing a corrective and prestigious influence on the Management.
